Narrative Vision & Experience Design
The goal was to transform an album launch campaign into a playful, immersive quest for fans:
- An expanded universe around the album: Gamifying the visual concept of the Labyrinthe album by plunging the musicians into a surreal maze where the audience holds the keys.
- Rewarding gameplay loop: Each saved band member unlocks an unreleased 8-bit chiptune version of a track, building a direct bridge between puzzle success and musical discovery.
- Engaging conversion funnel: A seamless user flow designed to naturally guide over 10,000 players from the first puzzle to an exclusive preview track and contest entry.
Context & Production Challenges
- Storytelling & Worldbuilding: Staging the musicians trapped in a surreal labyrinth to build a playful universe around the album release.
- Engagement & Conversion (+10,000 players): Captivating the band's audience with evolving rewards (collectible 8-bit tracks, exclusive preview listening, and a draw for a private listening session).
- Universal accessibility without downloads: WebGL export via Godot Engine ensuring smooth, immediate execution directly in mobile and desktop browsers.
Role & Contributions (within Crafteke)

- UI / UX Design: Designing interfaces and mapping user flows to make tile manipulation intuitive on both touchscreens and mouse input.
- Prototyping & Temporary Assets: Creating temporary visual assets and setting up grayboxing test grids to validate level ergonomics before final graphic integration.
- Technical Support: Occasional programming and development support in Godot Engine.
Breakdown of the Installation
1. Sliding Gameplay & Exclusive Listening Funnel
Narrative Intent: Position the player as the key actor in rescuing the band. The puzzle mechanic visually translates the album's theme, while level completion directly rewards fan curiosity with exclusive musical arrangements.
Challenge: Design a puzzle game mechanic that is immediately accessible to the general public, capable of engaging over 10,000 players in an exclusive listening funnel.
Solution: Dynamic grid system where players slide rows of tiles to reconstruct pathways. Each cleared level saves a band member, unlocks an 8-bit track, and grants end-game access to an exclusive preview song and draw entry.
